The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, the Provincial Museum Directorate, and Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, organized a Spring Concert at the Kibrya Ancient City.
At the event held in the Ancient City, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, Gölhisar District Governor Kadir Ulusoy, Gölhisar Mayor İbrahim Sertbaş, Gölhisar School of Applied Sciences Director Dr. Lecturer Ersan Okatan, Gölhisar Vocational School Director Murat Ertilav, Gölhisar Health Services Vocational School Director Assoc. Dr. Ahmet Biçer, Çavdır Vocational School Deputy Director Lecturer İlker Akdağ, Altınyayla Mehmet Tuğrul Security Services Vocational School Director Lecturer Haluk Aktay, and students from the high schools in Gölhisar, Çavdır, and Altınyayla participated intensively.
Speaking before the concert, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar said, “Today, gathering in a historical place in Gölhisar reminds us once again how valuable the sparkle, motivation, and energy in your eyes are. I kiss and embrace you all in this meaningful environment. You are the most precious assets, the most valuable treasures of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University.
What I think in this atmosphere is that this work, built thousands of years ago and still standing tall, shows how valuable the labor and dedication of past people are today. They must have thought that their works would serve humanity even many years later. But what about us? What works will we leave for future generations? We must think about what legacies we will leave for the generations after us, for centuries, even millennia. How will people benefit from these works? Will they remember us? Will we be able to leave works that will be remembered for centuries?” emphasizing the importance of leaving a lasting work for future generations.
